The Cincinnati Branch of the English Speaking Union celebrates the fiftieth anniversary in the reign of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II
Friday, the sixth of June, 2003, the Cincinnati Branch of the English Speaking Union met at the Queen City Club to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary in the reign of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Guest of Honor and speaker of the evening was the Honorable Jonathan Darby, Consul General Designate, British Consulate, Chicago. The Beefeaters from Christ Church Boar's Head Festival, Robert Beiring and Douglas Desch were in attendance in costume. The St. Andrews Pipers, Jesse Andrews, Drum Major, Donald Rolfes and Alex Watt, Pipers, and Victor Wilson, Drummer, performed during the evening. The guests were welcomed by Marshall Colville Hunt, Jr., Eileen K. Knollman, President of the Cincinnati Branch greeted the members and the invocation was given by Vernon I. Corbin. There were remarks from the Honorable Jonathan Darby and a champagne toast was given by member Cedric W. Vogel.
